BlanketDream started with one dog, a lot of miles, and a simple belief: if they're family, they're part of the plan.
Nearly twenty years of figuring out how to bring the dogs too.
Long before BlanketDream existed, travelling with dogs was already part of everyday life.
Road trips. Vet visits. Walks. Weekends away. Rescue runs. Ordinary drives that become slightly less ordinary when a large dog is taking up the back seat.
Over the years, we tried a lot of things that promised to make travelling with dogs easier. Some worked. Plenty didn't.
BlanketDream grew out of the things we kept coming back to: practical products that genuinely made it easier to take the dogs with us.
The dog who gave the whole thing a name.
Blanket is the kind of dog who makes it difficult to imagine going anywhere without her.
Big enough to make a standard back seat feel small, curious enough to want to come everywhere, and very much part of the family.
She became a reminder of what we had already learned from years of living and travelling with dogs:
They're not luggage.
They're not an afterthought.
They're part of the plan.
Practical things that make going together easier.
We're not interested in filling your house with more dog stuff. We'd rather find the things that solve a real problem, earn their place in the car, and make everyday life with a dog a little easier.
If it doesn't solve a real problem, it doesn't belong here.
Muddy paws, large dogs, full cars and ordinary everyday trips.
The whole point is making it easier to include them.
I built BlanketDream around the way I actually live with dogs.
After years around dogs, rescue work and more car journeys than I could count, I stopped being interested in products that simply looked good in an advert.
I wanted the things I would actually use myself.
Things that make loading up the car easier. Things that make a big dog more comfortable. Things that mean one less reason to say, “Maybe you should stay home this time.”
That's what I want BlanketDream to be.
They're part of the plan.
